# 1 Take measurements

1. Measure the back length from the shoulder blades to the start of the tail.
2. The neck should be measured where it is widest.
   This size is important for the length of the collar or chest harness as well as clothing.
3. The chest-size should be measured at the widest part behind the front legs.
   It will show you how big a coat should be and also the size of a chest harness.

If your dog has an in-between size, we recommend the larger size so that your pet will feel at ease and has ample room for movement. This rule is recommended for long-haired dogs as well.
